Celebrate The Season will dazzle visitors and support community charities from Nov 25-Dec 30

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. — Celebrate The Season’s Holiday Lights Driving Tour and weekend Holiday Fairs kick off the holiday season on Friday, Nov. 25 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Celebrate The Season has donated more than a half million dollars to local charities since 2011.

Presented by Berkeley Electric Cooperative and organized by Santee Cooper and Old Santee Canal Park, Celebrate The Season features a nightly Holiday Lights Driving Tour from Nov. 25-Dec. 30 (closed Dec. 24 & 25) and Holiday Fairs on the weekends from Nov. 25-Dec. 18. Admission is only $5 per vehicle, and vehicles can make repeat loops through the display route on the night of admission. The festive details include:

Holiday Lights Driving Tour

* Thousands of brilliant lights on beautiful displays along a picturesque route

* $5 per vehicle with proceeds donated to local charities

* 6 to 9:30 p.m. Nov. 25-Dec. 30 (closed Dec. 24 & 25)

* Free repeat visits through the lights on the nights you visit

* Energy-efficient LEDs are powered with 100 percent Green Power from Santee Cooper

* Enter at 1 Riverwood Drive, Moncks Corner

Weekend Holiday Fairs

* Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays Nov. 25-Dec. 18

* Entry to Holiday Fairs is free with $5 per vehicle admission to Holiday Lights Driving Tour

* Visits and photos with Santa Claus

* Snow, live entertainment, marshmallow roasting and s’mores, hot chocolate, carousel rides, crafts at Santa’s Workshop, train rides, jump castle, photos with the Grinch and other fun attractions (additional charges apply to some of these)

* Craft show featuring items for sale by local artisans

* Tours of Stony Landing House, decorated in vintage decor

Continuing its tradition of giving, all proceeds from the lights show and festival will be donated to charities serving Berkeley County. Since 2011, Celebrate The Season donated more than $562,000 to local organizations like Coastal Community Foundation's Giving Back to Berkeley Fund and the Berkeley County Museum and Heritage Center. Also returning this year is the charitable Tinsel Trot 2-mile Fun Run & Walk, which takes place from 5:30-8 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, and gives participants a "sneaker preview" of the colorful light displays. Registration information can be found at www.celebratetheseason.org/tinseltrot.
