Meet MEL and Reduce The Use in the New Year

We hope your 2019 has been going great so far. We have some big plans here at Santee Cooper. We’d love for you to try our customer service website and app, MEL, or MyEnergyLinkSC.com.
Honestly, we think it’s an easier way for you to stay connected with us. You can pay your bill, track your usage, and sign up for alerts for things like when your bill is due or when the power goes out and when it may be restored. If you pay with your checking and routing numbers on MEL, there is no fee. Give it a try and let us know what you think.
The beginning of a new year is also the start of our new rebates.
- If you install a smart thermostat in your home, you can receive a $50 rebate.
- Get up to $700 for a new energy-efficient heat pump.
- For duct replacement, you receive $500.
- For a heat pump water heater, the rebate is $400
The rebates are our way of encouraging you to save even more money down the road as the cost savings add up.
We reached our Reduce the Use goal of helping customers save 209 gigawatt- hours in 2018, two years ahead of schedule! That’s a savings a of $250 million for our customers through our rebate programs and low-interest loans for energy efficiency upgrades.
We’ll continue offering those programs through 2020. And we’re now working on new goals to make our service territory, including the Grand Strand, more receptive to electric vehicles. We’ll keep you posted on the details on that.
You can stay in the know about Santee Cooper by picking up a PowerSource magazine. They’re available at your local library or give us a call and we can send one right to you. The winter issue is focused on Hurricane Florence and the response to the flooding. You can also sign up for our monthly newsletter, Current, here.
Contact us if you have any questions about any of these programs. We look forward to serving you in 2019 and beyond.
