Thank a Customer Service Rep
Large companies and small businesses around our great nation celebrate Customer Service Appreciation Week the first full week in October each year. This year, it is being celebrated Oct. 7-11.
National Customer Service Week was established by the International Customer Service Association in 1984. President George H. W. Bush and the U.S. Congress proclaimed it a national observance in 1992 through Senate Joint Resolution 166. Who knew?
The purpose of having such a designation is really two-fold: First, Customer Service Appreciation Week is to recognize the outstanding job that customer service professionals perform 52 weeks a year. Second, it is to highlight the fact that exceptional customer service is one of the main ingredients in running a successful business.
At Santee Cooper, we recognize that our customer service representatives (CSRs) give it their all every day. While line are the most visible when restoring power after a major event (such as a hurricane, and they should), it is the CSRs behind the phones who play a critical role in helping to gather information, passing it along and getting restoration underway as quickly as possible.
Nothing makes me prouder than seeing a room full of trained professionals working with customers and doing what they do best: providing an exceptional customer service experience in good times and in bad.
This week not only are we celebrating the outstanding job our customer service team does on a daily basis, we are also be celebrating YOU, our customers. Stop by our retail offices on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Myrtle Beach (Oak Street) or Moncks Corner (Riverwood Drive) to “thank a rep” and grab a free snack and bottled water. We’d love to spend a few minutes with you and to hear comments about our CSRs.
We truly can never thank our CSRs enough for the phenomenal job that they do. We feel privileged and grateful that they have chosen to be such an integral part of our Santee Cooper team.
