Here you will find brief descriptions of Santee Cooper's rates for residential customers. For a complete description of each rate, please follow the links provided.

Note: The Customer charge for each rate is not shown. All rates are subject to fuel and demand sales adjustment clauses and Terms and Conditions of Retail Electric Service.

Residential General Service Schedule (RG-13)


Summer season - 10.87 cents/kWh
Non-summer season - 9.87 cents/kWh

Residential Good Cents (New) Schedule (RN-13) - Rate R1/R2


Summer season - 10.24 cents/kWh
Non-summer season - 9.24 cents/kWh

Residential rate for customers that have built homes to meet the Good Cents Standards.

*Schedule closed to new customers as of Nov. 1, 2009 except for customers who have applied prior to that date and whose home is certified under the program prior to Nov. 1, 2010.

Residential Good Cents (Improved Home) Schedule (RR-13) - Rate R3/R4


Summer season - 10.64 cents/kWh 
Non-summer season - 9.64 cents/kWh

Residential rate for customers that have made improvements to meet the Good Cents Standards.

*Schedule closed to new customers as of Nov. 1, 2009 except for customers who have applied prior to that date and whose home is certified under the program prior to Nov. 1, 2010.

Residential Demand Service Rider (RD-13)


  • Summer season - 4.58 cents/kWh
  • Non-summer season - 3.58 cents/kWh

$17.19 / kW Demand

Residential rate for homes having tankless electric water heater or other types of resistance loads that may have an annual load factor less than 35%.

Residential Net Billing Schedule (RB-14)


Residential rate for customers with qualifying renewable energy generation for the customer's own use, interconnected with and operated in parallel with Santee Cooper's distribution system.

On-Peak Demand Charge - $11.34/kW

Off-Peak Demand Charge - $4.85/kW

Residential rate for private homes, single family dwelling units and farms. Participation is on a voluntary basis.
