Varnville-Robertville 69kV Rebuild
Overview
Santee Cooper plans upgrades to the transmission system to maintain and improve reliability, support future load growth, and provide resiliency. This project involves rebuilding an older 69 kV transmission line and building a new 115 kV transmission with modern steel poles in existing right of way from Santee Cooper’s Varnville Station to the Nixville tap.
Project Description
Santee Cooper plans to construct this 6-mile transmission line over a 4-month period, starting around March 2026. There are currently no planned service disruptions. Santee Cooper intends to send letters to homeowners along the route before project construction starts and have previously sent letters to landowners along the route informing them of project activities.
Right of Way/Land
No new right of way will be needed from landowners.
