Marketplace Launches Offering Energy-Efficient Products and Discounts

Power up your savings on energy efficient products

The Santee Cooper Marketplace is now open! An online, one-stop, energy-saving shop for our residential customers, Marketplace offers energy-efficient products  — including ENERGY STAR® products — available at discounted costs. Some products also have instant rebates, and there are plenty of additional promotions planned for the year.

You bet I was our first customer. My rates changed on March 3. The week prior, I went through my house to check on some things. After living in this home for six years, I realized my thermostat wasn’t programmable. I knew I wanted a water heater timer. I logged into Marketplace.

Both the smart thermostat and water heater timer were priced a lot lower than I’ve seen them in the store. Marketplace scheduled three weeks for delivery, but my items arrived within the week. It was quick and easy and helped me save money. I hope it does in the future as well.

I also found during my home check that my dishwasher timer is broken. Do you “know a guy?” I’ll be checking our Trade Allies list to help me find someone qualified.

Marketplace is a tool Santee Cooper created to help our customers with their energy use under the restructured rate, which includes a Demand Charge during Peak Hours. The equipment sold in the Marketplace is typically available in your local hardware store, but as a Santee Cooper customer, you get the added advantage of rebates or steep discounts. Marketplace will offer promotions throughout the year, including smart thermostats for just $30.

Other available equipment includes:

  • Smart thermostats
  • Water heater timer
  • Smart power strips
  • Air purifiers
  • LED nightlights
  • LEDs
  • EV chargers
  • And more

Visit santeecoopermarketplace.com to check out this exciting new benefit for our residential customers. We hope you also find it a useful tool for saving energy (and money).
