Beware of Fraud

Scammers are targeting business and residential customers, and Santee Cooper does not want you to become a victim of fraud.

Many scammers threaten to turn off your power if you don’t pay immediately, or they’ll try to convince you to purchase pre-paid cards to make a payment over the phone. Others may have sophisticated phone systems mimicking Santee Cooper recordings or phone numbers.

Many times, they will have some information about you, hoping to catch you off guard and convince you to provide private information like social security numbers and bank or credit card accounts.

This is not how we do business at Santee Cooper. If you feel pressured, hang up and call a Customer Service Representative directly at 1-800-804-7424.

If you feel you've been a victim of fraud, you can report it here.
