Temporary Service Requirements

Temporary Pole
Your contractor’s electrician should install a temporary pole within 5 feet of an underground electric source or 10 feet of an overhead electric source. For additional specifications, please click here.

Inspection
You must have the temporary pole inspected by your local municipality.

Temporary Service Application
Complete our temporary service application and email it to newservice@santeecooper.com.

Permanent Meter Base
Have an electrician install and label a permanent meter base on your home.

Residential Service Extension Application Agreement (RSEAA) Form
Complete a Residential Extension Application Agreement form.
This process can take up to 14 business days. Contact a Santee Cooper area engineer if you have questions.

Before you can convert from temporary to permanent service, you must have your municipality complete an inspection (see municipality inspection list below). After linework and inspection are completed, contact us at 800-804-7424 or newservice@santeecooper.com to request to move from temporary to permanent service. Please allow 2-3 business days for installation.
All linework must be completed before requesting temporary to permanent service.
