An ENERGY STAR® heat pump water heater is more energy efficient because it uses less energy to heat water. A $400 rebate is available to Santee Cooper customers who purchase and install a heat pump water heater. Rebates are available for single-family and multifamily homes.

  1. Call

    A contractor with a South Carolina Plumbing Contractor’s License will help you make the best choice for your home.

    Check here to see if your contractor is a SC Licensed Plumber.

  2. Choose

    Your contractor will install your new heat pump water heater.

  3. Complete

    You will need to complete and submit the following to Santee Cooper.

    • Rebate Application
    • Heat Pump Water Heater Form (to be completed by SC Licensed Plumber)
    • Heat Pump Water Heater's AHRI Certificate
    • Receipt
    • Photo of the installed Heat Pump Water Heater(s)

Frequently Asked Questions

Your contractor must have a South Carolina Plumbing Contractor’s License for you to qualify for a heat pump water heater rebate. 

You can only install your own heat pump water heater and qualify for a rebate if you have a South Carolina Plumber’s Contractor’s License.
